The last weekend in March, I headed to Breckenridge to stay at Stefanie’s beautiful mountain house just off Peak 9. Despite a huge snow storm, Howie, Bri and I were determined to get there on Thursday. Little did we know, we would end up sitting on the I-70 on-ramp for over an hour while a 6-foot snow bank built up next to our car (there was a point where we could see nothing except the taillights of the car two feet in front of us), being pulled up the ramp by a random SUV and then pushing our car up the five lane highway and jumping in while it was still moving to make sure we didn’t loose momentum. Needless to say, it was by far my most adventurous trip to the mountains.
Stef, Adam, Torry and David arrived shortly after we did and we spent the evening catching up over margaritas. Friday we skied, hot tubbed and cooked a delicious steak and veggies dinner. Bri and I did our best to ralley the crowd for the bowl game or like minds, but failed to convince anyone to play.
The mountain was surprisingly cold on Saturday. We cut the day short and spent the later half of the afternoon napping and watching TV. After a walk around town, we showered and prepared for a night out. We enjoyed cocktails at a cute local restaurant and dined at Briar Rose. While the evening was absolutely wonderful, we couldn’t help but call it an early night.
After a delicious brunch and another stroll downtown, it was time to go. It was so sad to say goodbye, but great to walk away with another set of priceless memories. Thanks Steffie! xoxo
